FlexiSmoke™ WSC 560

The FlexiSmoke™ WSC 560 is the largest smoke and heat extraction control unit in the FlexiSmoke™ series for controlling ±24V DC and MotorLink

By using standardized components, both smoke and ventilation functions can be assigned to each component.

Touch Screen

The FlexiSmoke™ features a 3½” LCD touch screen with a clear menu navigation. This allows for easy configuration, commissioning, and maintenance – even without a computer. Any faults are displayed in detail, making troubleshooting significantly easier.

The FlexiSmoke™ can support up to three different motor speeds:

1. for ±24V DC standard motors - 1 speed (RWA)

2. for MotorLink^® motors - 2 speeds (RWA / manual control)

3. for MotorLink^® motors and bus communication - 3 speeds
   (RWA / manual control / automatic)

Speed Types

RWA: full motor power for smoke and heat extraction and safety functions.
The RWA function always has the highest priority.
Manual control: A fast and audible speed for manual ventilation controls
Automatic: A slow and nearly silent speed for automatic ventilation controls

Low Wiring Effort

By using bus technology in the smoke and heat extraction control stations, a lower wiring effort is automatically achieved. Reading and programming of individual bus participants can be done directly via the control unit's touch screen.

Wind Direction Dependent Smoke Extraction

The FlexiSmoke can be configured to open and close windows depending on wind direction and speed. Thus, the smoke and heat extraction flaps/windows can be controlled based on wind direction without the need for additional modules.

Bus Communication

The ventilation control is also possible via bus communication KNX or BACnet IP together with, for example, NV Advance^®.

Certification

Certified according to EN 12101-10 and ISO 21927-9.
The WSA 5MC KNX module is certified by the BACnet Interest Group Europe. 

Flexible System Setup

The FlexiSmoke can be configured according to need and can be technically retrofitted or expanded at any time, for instance, by adding more modules or linking multiple control units.

Structure

The WSC 560 contains three 20A sections.

Modules
Each 20A section contains the WSA 5PS power supply module, the WSA 5MC master control module, and 3 free installation slots for expansion modules. The WSA 5MC control module
is available with or without fieldbus interface for KNX or BACnet IP.
The 3 free installation slots can be equipped with WSA 5IO input/output modules and/or with WSA 5UM universal motor modules. The module types and numbers are chosen to tailor the smoke and heat extraction control unit to the specific task.

Motor Groups and Motor Lines
Each motor group consists of one or more motor lines. All motor lines of the motor groups are controlled simultaneously.
Each 20A section contains a 20A motor line at the WSA 5PS module for connecting ±24V standard motors. If multiple motor lines are needed, one or more motor modules type WSA 5UM
should be chosen. Each motor module has 4 motor lines. It is possible to connect ±24V standard motors and motors with MotorLink ® to WSA 5UM.
A 20A section can contain a maximum of 13 ±24V standard motor lines or 12 MotorLink ® motor lines and 1 ±24V standard motor line. The total current consumption of the motors must not exceed 20A.

RWA Main Control Stations
For the FlexiSmoke™, RWA main control stations from the WSK 5 series must be used. The RWA control stations are configured via the touch panel of the RWA control unit and assigned to the smoke sections.

Inputs / Outputs
All inputs and outputs in the FlexiSmoke™ RWA control unit can be freely configured – i.e., functions can be assigned across the modules and 20A sections.
