FlexiSmoke™ WSC 560

The FlexiSmoke™ WSC 560 is the largest smoke and heat extraction (RWA) control unit in the FlexiSmoke™ series for controlling ±24V DC and MotorLink.

Thanks to the uniform modules, each module can be assigned both smoke and heat extraction as well as ventilation functions.

Touchscreen

The FlexiSmoke™ features a 3½” LCD touchscreen with clear menu navigation. This enables seamless configuration, commissioning, and maintenance – even without a computer. Any malfunctions are displayed in detail, significantly easing troubleshooting.

The FlexiSmoke™ has up to three different motor speeds:

1. for ±24V DC standard motors - 1 speed (RWA)

2. for MotorLink^® motors - 2 speeds (RWA / manual control)

3. for MotorLink^® motors and bus communication - 3 speeds
   (RWA / manual control / automatic)

Speed Types

RWA: full motor power for RWA and safety functions.
RWA function always has the highest priority.
Manual control: a quick and audible speed for manual ventilation control
Automatic: a slow and nearly silent speed for automatic ventilation control

Low Wiring Effort

The use of bus technology in the RWA control panels results in automatically reduced wiring effort. Reading and programming of individual bus participants can be performed directly via the touchscreen of the control unit.

Wind Direction Dependent Smoke Extraction

The FlexiSmoke can be set up to open and close windows depending on wind direction and speed. This allows for wind direction-dependent control of RWA flaps/windows without the need to purchase additional modules.

Bus Communication

The ventilation control is also possible via KNX or BACnet IP bus communication together with, for example, NV Advance^®.

Certification

Certified according to EN 12101-10 and ISO 21927-9.
The WSA 5MC KNX module is certified by BACnet Interest Group Europe. 

Flexible System Structure

The FlexiSmoke can be configured according to need and can be technically adapted and expanded at any time, for example, by adding additional modules or linking multiple control units.

Construction

The WSC 560 contains three 20A sections.

Modules
Each 20A section contains the WSA 5PS power supply module, the WSA 5MC master control module, and 3 free installation slots for the installation of expansion modules. The WSA 5MC control module
is available with or without a fieldbus interface for KNX or BACnet IP.
The 3 free installation slots can be equipped with WSA 5IO input/output modules and/or with WSA 5UM universal motor modules. The module types and quantities are chosen to adapt the RWA control unit to the specific task.

Motor Groups and Motor Lines
Each motor group consists of one or more motor lines. All motor lines of the motor groups are controlled simultaneously.
Each 20A section contains a 20A motor line on the WSA 5PS module for connecting ±24V standard motors. If multiple motor lines are needed, one or more motor modules of type WSA 5UM
should be selected. Each motor module has 4 motor lines. It is possible to connect ±24V standard motors and motors with MotorLink® to WSA 5UM.
A 20A section can contain a maximum of 13 ±24V standard motor lines or 12 MotorLink® motor lines and 1 ±24V standard motor line. The total current consumption of the motors must not exceed 20A.

RWA Main Control Panels
For the FlexiSmoke™, RWA main control panels from the WSK 5 series must be used. The RWA control panels are configured via the touchscreen of the RWA control unit and assigned to the smoke sections.

Inputs / Outputs
All inputs and outputs in the FlexiSmoke™ RWA control unit can be freely configured – i.e., functions can be assigned across modules and 20A sections.
