The Aumüller Smart Vent Box Modbus (SVB Modbus) provides a direct interface between Aumüller 24 V window actuators with S12 electronics and a Modbus-based building automation system.

It is designed as a compact retrofit control module, allowing automated window ventilation to be integrated into an existing building management infrastructure.

Modbus RTU integration via RS485

Communication with the building automation system is provided via Modbus RTU over RS485 at 19,200 baud.

This enables individual control and operating functions for the connected actuator group to be implemented within a Modbus-based automation system. The solution is particularly suitable for buildings where natural window ventilation forms part of an overall room or building control strategy.

Optional local ventilation switch

In addition to bus communication, an optional ventilation switch can be connected directly to the Smart Vent Box.

This allows central building automation to be combined with local manual window operation. The ventilation switch can be used for direct operation or incorporated into the information exchanged via the bus system.

Compact retrofit solution

The SVB Modbus is designed for both new and existing installations. Its compact dimensions of only 40.5 × 48.5 × 28.3 mm allow installation close to the window actuator.

The connected S12 actuator system can be automatically taught in at the push of a button, while an integrated test function simplifies commissioning and functional checks.

The SVB Modbus is the appropriate version when Aumüller S12 window actuators are to be integrated into a Modbus / RS485 building automation system.
