Aumüller WRAG2 Wind and Rain Evaluation Unit (482005)

The Aumüller WRAG2 (482005) evaluates wind and rain signals for the automatic weather-dependent control of electrically operated windows. When adverse weather conditions are detected, connected ventilation systems can automatically close windows or inhibit ventilation functions.

The compact unit is designed for use with components such as the Aumüller Wind and Rain Sensor Set Type 7x/8x and the 24 V DC Compact Rain Sensor Type III.

Automatic weather protection for window ventilation

The WRAG2 continuously evaluates the signals provided by the connected weather sensors. The wind threshold can be adjusted between 2.5 and 20 m/s to suit the requirements of the installation.

When the configured wind speed is exceeded or rain is detected, the corresponding relay signals can be used to initiate a weather-protection function within the ventilation system.

LED indicators provide a clear visual indication of:

• operation
• wind
• rain

Separate or combined wind and rain signals

Four DIP switches allow the system to be configured so that wind and rain signals are transmitted either separately or together.

Two changeover relay outputs are available, each rated for 230 V AC / 5 A, providing flexible integration into ventilation control and building automation systems.

Ventilation switch input

In addition to the weather sensors, the WRAG2 provides a dedicated input for a ventilation switch. Other control devices, such as a timer, can also be incorporated into the system.

Suitable window actuators with a total current consumption of up to 5 A can be connected directly to the WRAG2.

Adjustable timing functions

The unit includes timing functions to prevent unnecessary reactions to very brief weather events.

These include:

• activation delay for wind
• activation delay for rain
• switch-off delay for wind

This allows the behaviour of the automatic weather control to be adapted to the individual ventilation system.

Compact DIN-rail installation

With dimensions of only 105 × 86 × 58 mm, the WRAG2 is designed for installation on a standard 35 mm DIN rail.

Its compact format makes it particularly suitable for installation inside electrical and control cabinets.
